Thermage treatment uses radiofrequency technology to heat the deeper, collagen-rich layers of the skin. The applied heat causes collagen to contract and encourages new collagen to start growing. This helps create smoother skin after just one treatment with results that continue to improve.
How Facial Can Be Treated With Revlite CPT?
- Deepening laughter lines beside your nose extending to the corners of your lips
- “Bulldog” cheeks forming
- Flattening cheeks, or a deepening groove running diagonally across your cheeks
- Increased wrinkles on your under-eye and cheek area
- Drooping upper eyelid, or increasing puffiness of your upper eyelid
- Brow getting lower and lower
- Face getting squarish and no longer V-shaped
The treatment plan for a facelift patient may include other plastic surgery procedures and minimally invasive procedures to provide a full facial rejuvenation benefit. The facelift in and of itself involves improvements to the jaw line, cheeks, and nasiofold area, but not necessarily the neck, brow, forehead, and eyelids. During the consultation with a plastic surgeon, he or she will evaluate your face to develop a comprehensive treatment plan.
As with any medical procedure, there are possible risks that patient should be aware of. Minor skin peeling occurs in approximately six percent of Thermage patients, though this usually does not result in any permanent scarring. The FDA has received 52 reports of more serious side effects suffered by Thermage patients, including scarring, indentations, dimpling and other skin irregularities. These side effects are relatively rare. Overall, Thermage is a safe procedure that delivers successful results with little recovery time.
The procedure, depending on the area treated, will take from 40 minutes to 3 hours. The results of the unique Thermage thermolifting procedure are visible immediately, and are gradually improving in the course of 3-6 months to one year.
